HINTS AND TIPS - FROM A DOG'S POINT OF VIEW!

PLACES

When us Doggies are out and about it is inevitable that we will need to go to the toilet at some point. Our owners like to be able to help keep places we visit clean and tidy so help them out by letting them know what you want them to do with our waste! Most places want it to be bagged up and binned, just let them know when they bring us in and they will be more than happy to do that.

Of course, if you really want to make sure they do that why not offer free 'doggie clean-up' bags, or if you charge a Dog entrance fee then include them in that?

If you have areas where we are not allowed, let our owners know and if you want us to be kept on a lead then make out owners aware.

Lastly, if you can provide us with a little bit of water in a bowl somewhere, that would be fantastic - all this Dog Tourism is exciting but thirsty work!

ACCOMMODATION

It is always important to let our owners know of sleeping arrangements if we come to stay. For example, some B&B's and Hotels may have kennels for us and others may let us sleep in the bedrooms. Most probably don't want us on the beds or sofas!

Some caravan sites may not allow us in certain vans and some may have special dog walks for us. You may also have your own pets, so always worth mentioning incase we haven't learnt how to be quite so friendly with unfamiliar animals as yet!

Whatever the rules are we are happy to follow them, just let our owners know and they can pass it on to us! We want to be good Dogs!

EATING OUT

We love being loyal to our owners 24-7, so it's nice for us to sit at their feet whilst they have dinner (nothing to do with the occasional scrap that might fall on the floor - honestly!!).

Let our owners know if we are only allowed in the beer garden or certain parts of the restaurant or bar. Also, if you would like us to be kept on a lead mention that too.

And finally, if our owners are enjoying a nice drink we would love one too - but only a bowl of water!

Overall, these are simple things to consider when welcoming Dog's to your establishment. Dog owners are a friendly bunch and they really do love us and appreciate you letting us come along!

And last but not least, if you have a limit on the number of dogs you allow per person its worth mentioning as there are some owners who love us so much that they have more than just one Dog!

Take Your Dog!
